For over 15 years now I’ve desired to relocate out of Kansas.  Not because I dislike Kansas, quite the contrary.  But rather because I don’t like the idea of staying in one place for my entire life.  As a younger man I had my sights on moving to the Pacific Northwest and probably will still live there someday.

Now that I’m married with children, many other factors were considered in a new place to call home.  After much research and discussion, my wife and I selected the Denver Colorado area.  We chose this location for a number of reasons.  First, Colorado is where my wife and I first met.  So we both have fond memories of our earlier time there together.  Other reasons included Colorado’s weather, conservative influences, proximity to things to do and good access to our family in Kansas and the Southeast.  We also strongly desire to have a more active and outdoor lifestyle.

So March has now become the month to prepare our house to list on the market.  After him-hawing for way to long for whatever reasons, we’ve finally decided to do it.  Still tons left to do, but it sure feels good to finally put the plans into motion.

View from my folks covered deck. We all like to hang out here and drink a glass of wine.

Can’t wait to return to Seattle.  Not much longer now until we do.

Went with the wife to see Better Than Ezra play @ our local Zoo.  We had a great time.

I turned 37 on the 17th.  Had a great day.  My wife made me our traditional birthday pancakes in the shape of my age.  Then my 4 daughters presented me with both hand-made as well as purchased gifts.  Later, my wife and I went out to the movies, saw Inception and grabbed dinner.  I’m looking forward to this year.  For some reason, I get the feeling it will be a great one.

Big milestone today in my business.  We officially began our customer beta testing today of the next version of our web application.  Almost 3 years of development to get to this point.  If all goes as expected with testing, we will launch the our new version at a major convention in Dallas this summer.  Though I’ve enjoyed the project management role, I’m really ready to put on my marketing and business building hat for awhile.

I don’t go searching for new music very often.  On this occasion I got lucky.  Take a listen.  Give the linked page a second to start the music.  It starts out quiet at first.
